Because it was marked as AI content does not necessarily mean it is AI content, AI tools can be wrong. I'm not going to deny using AI tools to correct spelling and grammar errors or enhance content but the ideas and a whole lot of the content is mine. Also, I already explained this to a moderator and have stopped using tools like Grammarly for contents here self.

Some people have really weird ideas, and hundreds of members don't seem to see anything wrong with using AI to improve or beautify their posts. No matter how you interpret it, it is still completely wrong. If you understood that it was bad, then it is good for you, and if you didn't sooner or later you will be punished.
Regarding the OP and his question, I have to admit that it's something completely new when it comes to merits - because people begged for them, used their alt accounts to give themselves merits, buy and sell them, but mining is something that no one has tried yet
