Could we see Girona become a surprise club among the strong teams in the champions league? maybe the answer is not available for now but anything can still happen. They did have a good season last season in the domestic league and their strengths do need to be tested in a bigger competition to prove their worthiness here.

As long as coach Michel is still the coach of Girona it should be no problem but it is quite unfortunate that they lost some of their players in the summer and I think that will make them a little weak. Arthem Dovbyk is expected to be a goal hungry striker and maybe he will also enter the list of top scorers in the champions league if his sharpness does not dull.

Nice question. This reminds me of teams like Malaga, Leicester doing nice things in the Champions League after having a great season in their domestic leagues.  Smiley  However I'm not sure if Girona can keep this level... It is very important to preserve the current squad quality above all else. Otherwise team spirit might not be good enough.

They are actually making new good transfers such as Abel Ruiz and Krejci so far. But players like Aleix Garcia, Savinho, Yan Couto, Eric Garcia have left. Dovbyk is also likely to leave. Atletico Madrid and Roma are interested lately.
