I know that as gamblers, everyone can relate to this question, as we have surely experienced it in real situations.

Suppose our bankroll is $100 and it has already grown to $500, would you quit or continue? Conversely, if with our bankroll, we are down to $10, would you still continue or save the remaining $10? I used specific amounts to make it easier to discuss this situation. I understand that we all gamble with different amounts based on our income, but consider this as an example. You can mention any amount you want based on your personal experience; it doesn't matter.

it is difficult to determine which event is easier to stop, but I myself have a thought that winning in gambling is something that is rarely obtained, maybe even difficult to happen and get, so I prefer to stop when I have won because remembering that victory is indeed difficult to get so it must be used as well as possible, immediately cash it in and not bet again. Likewise with when experiencing defeat, when you have experienced defeat then stopping is a good choice because winning in gambling is not certain even if we continue gambling again does that guarantee? of course not right?

in this case maybe awareness and self-control are things that will determine everything, with awareness of course the profits that have been obtained will definitely not be wasted, I myself am like that. and vice versa, if there is no awareness, maybe what will happen is a greater desire to win which will actually be a disaster. even though there is luck but that doesn't guarantee it.
One of the best ways to keep your gambling winnings is to take a temporary break after winning. After every win, the probability of defeat increases. Because win and defeat complement each other. Besides, there is no assurance that fate will always favor. I try to cash out after a win especially the big bets. Again, we accept the same situation in case of defeat. I try to stop when I lose a few times in a row. Many gamblers cannot hold their patience here. They quickly try to recover the bet money which in turn causes them to lose more money. Since gambling is uncertain, one has to rely on luck as well as shold be controled in gambling.
It is very good that you know how to finish the game or take a break after several losses, because many cannot do this because the excitement exceeds any other desires at this moment, even if you need to do really important life things, for example, pick up children from school or something like that. There are also cases when, having become carried away by the game, some do not want to go to work and they are fired. And all because in their head there was a usual plan for earning money on gambling, but this is stupid, this is a fairy tale that everyone wants to believe. It is a pity that everyone only learns from their mistakes and goes through this path disappointed.

Still, the exit depends more on the psychology of the player himself, because if it is easy for one to exit after a loss, then it is easy for another player to exit after a win, in this case everything is too individual.
