In the 2020 U.S. presidential election, the campaigns of the two major candidates (Trump and Biden) cost billions of dollars. For example, Biden's campaign expenses exceeded $1 billion, and Trump's spending was close to the same amount.
Campaigns are expensive and necessary. Their country has 50 states, it cannot be easy to reach all people and try to inform them of why they should be the president. Campaigns also has teams working for them consisting of members from different fields like marketing or some statistics. There’s just so many going on days leading up to the election.

Harris already raised 200 million US dollars from donation which is the biggest anyone’s ever received. She already has much more from Trump and while money does not make you a president, it definitely raises the chances of becoming one.
