Trying to put a divide between projects isn't a smart move, it doesn't make one better and the other worse, it makes them battle each other and not have inclusion. With this method, people who like SOL would sell their BTC and buy SOL, which is what OP wants and that's great, but you could make people who like BTC end up selling their SOL and keep their BTC.

Now, of course people won't do that just based on some bitcointalk forum post, why would they but if this logic got bigger and everyone said it and like it was some sort of competition, then it wouldn't help anyone. Learn from ETH, it became second biggest because it was the second biggest suggestion after bitcoin, everyone kept both btc and eth, which is how it grew.
