It's not: hardly any Americans care about Bitcoin either way, and the ones who do would never prioritize things like abortion over some laws about Bitcoin.

But for politicians, it's all about the campaign donations. A few billionaire Bitcoin whales are dumping giant amounts of money into this election--so far mostly to Republicans. Democrats want in on the action.

And keep in mind that these donors aren't giving money directly to candidates, they are giving money to PACs, and those PACs are buying ads that favor their favored candidates.

But here's the thing: these ads have nothing to do with Bitcoin. Nobody watching these ads would have any idea that it was Bitcoin advocacy that was behind it. The ads just contain bad things about their opponent or good things about their candidate in general. That tells you all you need to know about what these donors think of how much Americans care about Bitcoin.
