Actually, the FA Community Shield is not that important for Manchester City and if they lose then there is no loss felt by Manchester City.
You can't really say that the community shield is not important to Manchester City because this is literally the first match of the season so it will be bad if they have a bad start and it will also be bad if a team like Manchester City who have won the premier league for Four consecutive seasons is not able to win the community shield and moreover, the last time they met Manchester United was in the F.A cup finals last season of which Manchester United won them so i don't think they can allow two consecutive win by Manchester United.
Indeed, Ten Hag looks quite optimistic to be able to get win in this match and he looks very enthusiastic in trying to beat Manchester City even though we all know that Manchester United performance can't actually surpass Manchester City.
But there is indeed chance for them to win the match, just like when they were in the FA Cup final where Manchester City didn't seem to play optimally and didn't look like team that was trying to get win because the FA Cup was not the goals for Manchester City.
In match like this for the FA Community Shield I doubt if I have to make Manchester City the favorite, maybe there will be surprise like the match in the FA Cup final.
The community shield may not be that important for the both teams but Eric Ten Haag may not take it seriously as he did last season in the F. A cup finals against Manchester City but however, this is the first game of the season so both teams are expected to have a good start but whatever the outcome of the match today would be, good luck to the Manchester derby teams. I don't think there is anything special about the community shield so I expect a fair play from both teams regardless of who is gonna win at the end of the game today.
