Never choose an exchange that is known enough, just a popular exchange that most people/investors use.
Most famous exchanges can have good reputation and services so that you have more belief on their business to use their platform. Basically, it's a good start but because their platforms are centralized, you must know about basic warning "Not your keys, not your coins". With centralized exchanges, you must be carefully with how much money you want to store in your account on their centralized platforms.

If you only store small part of your capital on their centralized exchanges, you are reducing risk of losing all money.
Yes. In the end, the conclusion that can be drawn is that even the best and most well-known exchanges do not guarantee that your assets will be safe. Because the assets on the exchange are completely beyond our control, the exchange could suddenly become like what happened to the FTX exchange a few years ago.

So it is important not to store all our assets on the exchange, store only a small portion of assets on the exchange and the rest in a wallet that we can control ourselves. If I personally choose an exchange other than the popular exchanges there, I will choose an exchange that has a display that is easy to use and pleasing to the eye when doing activities. Because if these two are on the exchange, the trading process will be easier when used so that we will not need a long time to be active on the exchange and we will also easily understand how the exchange works.
