Even if they are financially quite capable, I am pretty sure that they are not as capable as the big teams like Real Madrid or Manchester City, or many others. What I am trying to say is that they probably do not have the financial situation to compete against the top-level clubs which actually perform very well in the Champions League competition.

So I think we cannot expect that level of competition and performance from Girona. But I think we can still expect good performance from the La Liga competition. I think that in the La Liga competition, Barcelona and Real Madrid are the biggest teams right now. It is very hard for any club to beat Real Madrid. But the situation in Barcelona is not good as we all know. So it is very much possible to actually beat Barcelona for these clubs. Girona will have to be patient.. Acquiring players who cost a lot of money can also backfire on any club as well.

I don't think Girona will be able to turn up next coming season like last season because last season Real Madrid was not that active in La Liga; they faced the Champions League last season. It was in the middle of the season that they became tough in the La Liga, but this coming season is going to be something different because they are now stronger than before, and again, any other team is fully ready for this competition, including Barcelona.

They will fight and want to be stronger than before, and again, any other team is fully ready for this competition, including Barcelona. They will fight and want to be at the top of the table; although you are right, they are not that much in form, but still, I'm pretty sure Barcelona will be better than last season. I think every team wants to show themselves this coming season.
Not let us overlook Girona's record. Last season, they were a top-four team; they also gave Real Madrid a run for their money at one time. That is not merely luck, people. They have always been tactically wise and are making wise moves bringing in fresh talent. Although its never perfect to lose a key player, they are obviously expecting that. Fundamentally, Girona has a strong basis and is not hesitant to challenge norms. Not now would I count them out. Perhaps the season's dark horse is them.
