I have some bucks to invest & I'm not sure. Don't wanna buy BTC as I already have some. For these savings, I am planning some altcoins to add in my portfolio.
Not sure yet if I want it for long term or short.
Suggestions are appreciated.
Either short or long term you said, Ethereum is the best choice. You can hold it for as long as you can and it's the same as Bitcoin. But also the same with other altcoins that you can dump anytime you want whenever you're in profit and if you want to liquidate it.
Some may say that you can choose the memecoins, you're free to choose them but not all of them are going to be a good choice for you. My suggestion to you is to choose only the memecoins that are already established.
And that is because many of the investors of it think that any of it is a good investment and anything that you are early is a win for you. I'd say that not in most cases, you still need to be vigilant and always DYOR!
These days TON and SOL are getting more than they deserve for attention, not saying that they do not deserve some attention, but they are getting some extra ones that is a little too much for what they are getting. SOL is getting that extra attention because during the big increase we had a few months ago, it had way too many memecoins that happened within its chain, and it started to be known as the chain that people used for new meme projects, so it is known as memechain right now.
This made it very popular and other memes started to appear and that is why it became bigger and bigger, allowing SOL to increase during that period and be ranked higher as well. TON got a lot more attention recently, because of the whole telegram game stuff, notcoin made it popular, and right now there is hamster kombat or whatever it's called, so people are investing heavily into TON to be part of that new trend. Both of these are temporary though, I bet they will not do too well for too long.
I recognize that with SOL, the rise of the memecoins on its chain made it even more popular. Despite that a lot of outage of its network that has happened in the past, it is still being preferred by many memecoins projects for which took the attention of investors and made it popular that has added to the ranking of it and its market cap.
Also with TON, it's not only TON that became more popular but also Telegram. Although with numbers, there has been a lot of users already of Telegram but they had more because of the first success of the project that ran through it and the airdrop that it has released on its community through notcoin. I think if most of the developers on this chain have been too active at all, they'd share the same success. But I guess many from this community are getting pissed off due to the fact that many of these tap projects are just giving hype and falsehood hope to its community.
