This is Dortmund's fifth transfer of the summer as they continue to overhaul their squad under new head coach Nuri Sahin. Maximilian Beier is one of the breakout stars of the 2023-24 Bundesliga season and he will replace Niclas Fullkrug at Borussia Dortmund. While Guirassy was injured, I don't understand why coach Sahin didn't choose Youssoufa Moukoko but welcomed Maximilian Beier. Not only Moukoko but also Haller is just a backup plan. Even though I know Maximilian Beier is young, he was very calm on the pitch, and impressed with his speed, running spirit, and scoring ability. Perhaps Beier is a versatile player who can play well both as a center forward and a winger.
Meanwhile, Beier's move to the Champions League side would be a big step forward in his career.
It was a good move by Dortmund management and also a step forward for the player's career, but I still doubt Dortmund next season because I see Nuri Sahin is not an experienced coach and of course he needs an adaptation process with Dortmund so it is likely that Nuri Sahin will have difficulties in his first season.
Meanwhile, for Maximilian Beier who is still 21 years old, it is the right step to join Dortmund, this is very good for his career in the future.
As we know that quite a lot of Dortmund players have been recruited by other top European teams, maybe one day Maximilian Beier could be like that.
Dortmund are really pushing to win the league title season I think. They have got a new coach, 5 new players already and some players are also joining back from loan. Dortmund has already brought players like Maximilian Beier, Guirassi, Pascal GroB, and many more. I think these are some of the best transfer signings.
They already have a solid team and with these additions, they are looking more and more solid. They might actually win the league this season, but it all depends on how Nuri Sahin designs and performs with his squad. Nuri Sahin is still a young manager and has a lot to learn. But I think he has what it takes to run a club in the Bundesliga.
