Leverkusen have won the German Super Cup and it was hell of a work honestly.  Smiley  Because they got a red card in the first half but this still didn't stop them. Even though Stuttgart got ahead, they came back and won by penalties. Xabi Alonso is continuing on his magical run. Starting the season with trophy must be feeling superb for the whole team and the fans.

It is good to see that the same spirit exists among the players. Maybe another unbeaten run is about to start...  Tongue
Just when many of us were worried about Bayer Leverkusen and if they'll be able to continue their impressive performance of last season, they delivered an incredible display tonight against Stuttgart to win the German Super Cup. Bayer Leverkusen with their strong and resilient style of football have once again proven that they can do even more than they last season with that awesome show tonight. Xabi Alonso have instilled in his players the strong spirit to believe in themselves even when they're trailing and that's the kind of mentality you need to succeed as a top club. Can Leverkusen retain the league this season or would Bayern Munich work hard to stop that from happening?
Alonso led Leverkusen to start the season with the title giving the players greater confidence and certainly having great enthusiasm to reclaim the Bundesliga title like last season.
Actually, I had doubts but Alonso was able to prove with the same strategy as last season when he could not beat his opponent he would prefer to hold a draw and take a chance in the penalty round.
Leverkusen really surprisingly became a club with a great reputation and quality after Alonso joined Leverkusen and this is a very successful career that deserves to be maintained by Alonso.
Initially when the Leverkusen player got a red card I was a little worried if I couldn't put up a fight to score again but it turned out that in the 88th minute he managed to score 1 goal to hold a draw at the end of the match and that was great.
