Same as last season, yes, that info was discussed but never finalized. Last season we had IIRC 50+ players and discussed for 20 prize spots, but in the end it became 10, and actually we only discovered the prize amounts after the competition ended.

[1], I think it was made very clear that we will have ten winners:
The first place jackpot prize will be a guaranteed 0.1BTC and then the rest of the money will be split between 2nd-10th places.
If my memory serves me right, the exact price amounts were also confirmed before the season ended.
