We are slowly seeing the improvement of the Ireland women's team. Although we consider Sri Lanka Women's team as favorites in this series, Ireland Women's team managed to win both the matches. Sri Lanka Women won the first T20 match. However, the Sri Lanka women's team lost three consecutive matches after that. The T20 series was drawn but the ODI series was defeated by Sri Lanka Women's team.
I would not call this a slow improvement in the Ireland team but infarct there performance and improvement is too much impressive in this series.
Winning two matches in a row in the ODI series is a big achievement for them.
In yesterday match, i though Sri Lanka may win the match when Harshitha Samarawickrama was batting and Sri Lanka team were cruising at one time at 172 runs with only 3 wickets down. We then saw some match winning bowling by Arlene Kelly who took three wickets and Jane Maguire who took 2 wickets.
Ireland go 2-0 up despite Harshitha Samarawickrama centurySrilanka had no clue as how they lost this match when they did good bowling and Samarawickrama making a century. It was the late batting collapse that made Ireland win this match and the series too.
