With the new Chelsea board and management, I feel like I can not bet on Chelsea to win and lose at the same time. Chelsea is likely to struggle in many games this season, and I can’t afford to bet on them losing. Every team seems to be chasing a better version of Guardiola, but Chelsea doesn’t measure up mentally or tactically. I didn’t see any new patterns of play today in fact, the style they played today was disappointing and made little sense.
Todd Boehly doesn’t look like he knows what he is doing. Most of the problems the club is facing could have been avoided if Todd Boehly allowed the managers to sign the players they wanted. I sincerely miss the Roman Abramovich - Chelsea era where mediocrity was never tolerated. Chelsea is not a club known for its patience, it’s in their DNA to win…at least it used to be. I’m impressed with how well Chelsea fans are taking the loss to Manchester City, it’s as if they have ruled out the possibility of ever winning this Pep’s side in the EPL.
The American business approach seems to be what they’ve brought to Chelsea—completely overhauling the staff from the previous management and bringing in an entirely new team. Manchester United is still struggling with a similar approach, despite significant spending. The idea of delaying the transition is to help preserve and carry forward the winning culture of the club into the new era. Now, with rumors that Enzo is considering offloading Chilwell—the last major purchase from the Abramovich era—one has to wonder, is that really the right move?
Eh…..that won’t work. If Todd Boehly thinks he can run English football like it is soccer then he is dead wrong. There is a reason why American football (soccer) is not as popular as the EPL, La Liga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga e.t.c. If I am being honest, it was not until Messi signed to Inter Miami that I decided to have a look at the American League.
Todd Boehlybought one of the biggest clubs in England, he should recognize that the club was built on some particular principles and has a DNA. An average Chelsea fan understand the Chelsea’s way of doing business more than Todd Boehly. I think the best thing he scam do for the club is to stay out of the way and allow the manager to do the work.
