I want to believe that the phrase "drop a positive" was taken out of context in this situation, as I read through the entire PM. "Drop a positive" could mean so many things other than trust feedback; it could also mean that he was asking LoyceV to write something positive about him in his giveaway thread following the previous incident. ( A situation of Do or Don't)
I think you're right, the ones who aren't good at English language often make such mistakes. Drop a positive might be his try to convince LoyceV that he's now a changed person and he's not going to break any rules but men that's not the right way to admit your mistakes.

I know sometimes when you want to have a second chance then it's always better to send a PM to have mutual agreement but it's not the right way to ask someone to drop a positive as most people consider that quite odd because in OP situation anyone would consider that as a request for positive trust feedback.

It would be much better for OP to start a reputation thread back then to admit his mistakes instead of sending LoyceV those private messages. Let's say if we believe for a second that OP wasn't intending to ask for a positive trust feedback then why he said that Drop a positive?

If he said that because he wanted LoyceV to change his negative trust feedback to neutral but mistakenly used word positive because of his lack of understanding of English language then that's still okay but if he intended to turn the negative feedback to a positive one then that was another mistake that OP did.
