I agree with the observations you mentioned about T20 world cup but what makes you think that in the next world cup it will be hard to get a deal of 2$ billion ? The next ICC T20 World Cup will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka and I don't think India will settle for any less budget. Or are you suggesting that we had the budget of $3 billion only because it was held in the first world country, the United States of America

Disney Star won media rights for 2024-27 cycle, and they paid a total of $3.04 billion. And so far, it is turning out to be a loss making exercise for them. First of all, the deal between Disney Star and Zee fell apart. Zee was supposed to pay $1.4 billion to Disney for TV rights, but they backed off from that deal. So the entire deal had to be managed by Disney. And they made a loss in the first year, as the ICC was not very supportive. Given this, there is a good chance that they will not bid for 2028-31.
