So, from your own understanding, what do you think makes people chase loses aside greed which I believe many of us are already familier with?.
When a gambler takes a loss in gambling, he becomes desperate to recover the lost money and an unknown greedy force wakes up inside him and he keeps away from gambling again and again until he recovers the lost money. By doing this, the gambler is not in a situation to mentally control, so instead of recovering the loss, he faces more losses. That's why even if a professional gambler loses again and again, he doesn't go to gamble again and again and he mentally prepares himself later on how to gamble.
From desperate with his losses, he wants to recovers his losses and will continue playing gambling without stops. It will gives more losses if he playing gambling because of his anger.
He will lose more than he can imagine and that means, he can lose bigger than before. He must take a break after his lose so he will not attract to continuing playing gambling and reduce his tension because of his lose.
That can prevents more losses from gambling while he can calm down his emotion. He will not trying to spends more money in gambling because he knows that can attract more losses so by stops playing gambling for a while can avoids bigger lose.
One thing that triggers this is try to revenge on their lose and has also focused on a specific amount to win when the amount not longer coming as expected they would want to continue gambling, and if they incur much lose they would couple it to start chasing lose. But in all I would say is greed, this is another factor that controls most of the gambler to keep gambling at same time losing much.
Greed is one thing that every gambling has in them that is why when they go gambling and peradventure they win for the first time they wouldn't want to quit at that point, they would think is there time to shine but as they keep betting the more they encountered lose.
