Sri Lanka ended the third day with a lead of 82 runs, with just 4 wickets remaining. To have any chance of remaining alive in this match, they need to get the lead to at least 150. Not going to be an impossible task, as their lower order is not that bad. On top of that Shoaib Bashir has been disappointing so far in this innings.
Mathews and Kamindu Mendis' partnership tried to turn the match around, but Mathews got out after their partnership when team took 173 runs. Chandimal, Mendis will depend on the pair of these two tomorrow which way the match will go. If they play well in the first session tomorrow I don't think it will be difficult to get 170+ runs, but tomorrow is going to be a very challenging day for Sri Lanka. England bowled with 6 bowlers in the second innings except Bashir all got wickets, but I think England team performance is very satisfied.
