If everyone keeps quiet and refuse fighting against faulty systems, how will we experience positive change in our society?  If you're in a company of people who are involved in things that's contrary to what's right for you, don't try to paint yourself as the good egg in the place. Walk away and save your conscience and reputation from being associated with what's not right. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Doing something that's right to cover up for what's wrong doesn't make your wrong right.
Great response. So you are suggestive of resigning from his position and allowing the party to conduct a bye-election to replace him. This is because if there is a probe of the account of the local government, he would also be indicted since he benefitted from the system. Instead of staying inside a corrupt system and playing the victim, he should speak up and help clean the system from corruption. Thank you.

Note @Hewlet,  I am not a politician and don't have any intention of joining because I love my peace and freedom. I just narrated what a friend does and claims it is right. So I am not the protagonist. I am just seeking suggestions.
