My concern with Maresca lies with the defense, particularly the full-backs, who seem to struggle with maintaining the right positions consistently. The second goal, for instance, resulted largely from Malo Gusto being out of position. I’m really hoping the coach’s plan starts to click soon, as the players are still missing it too often. Mudrik isn’t showing any improvement, and Caicedo also struggled in the match.
Truly Chelsea attack is sharp and potent with players like Madueke, Jackson, Palmer, Nkunku and João Félix which would be ruthless with their opponent defence, however I absolutely agreed with you on Chelsea defence line which is fragile for now I think Maresca should fortify and strengthen that area of the team and from.my own observation also Caicedo is inconsistent with Enzo too, if Enzo perform brilliantly in any match Caicedo would perform lowly vice versa, though I believe the team would improve with time the squad comprises promising youngsters.
Chelsea's squad is not weak at all. There are many talented players in this squad. Even last season, Chelsea's squad was strong. Even so, Chelsea's performance was poor. I think this happened because of the internal problems of the club.
Chelsea's attack this season has talented players like Joao Felix, Sterling, Neto, Mudryk and Lukaku. Jackson, Palmer and Madueke are also very talented players. This Chelsea squad is strong. But consistently performing well requires a stable match strategy. It is also important for the players to be confident. Otherwise, Chelsea will not be able to perform well against the big teams.
In this match, Chelsea's attacking players performed well and scored 6 goals. We all admire Chelsea's attack. But the Chelsea team could not score a single goal against Manchester City in the first match. Therefore, the performance of Chelsea players is not regular this season.
