Vincent company winning his first match in Bayern Munich is not a big deal. Every average coach can win any match in Bundesliga with the squad Bayern Munich has. What we should look at is the long run results of Kompany in Bundesliga. But most importantly is his performance in the prestigious champions league.
However, I am not against anyone giving Kompany his flowers in every match he is able to win. That young coach needs our support because I see him as one of the coaches that are in serious danger according to the nature of his job. You can agree with me that if Vincent company wins Bundesliga in his first year in the club, it will not be considered a great achievement because the club is used to winning Bundesliga. He will only be applauded if he wins the Champions League which we know that is not happening any moment. So, it is natural that is losses will make louder noise than his wins.
Bayern Munich is a big club in Germany and we know how well they perform but since last season they haven't been themselves, struggling to even win games they're suppose to win without much stress and the first game they won it wasn't convincing that they (Bayern Munich) are back to that standard form and we shouldn't look at the coach but how well the players perform on the pitch. The coach can direct from outside the field but the players can as well play something different due to lack of understanding or something. So i won't say Bayern Munich did well with a 2-3 win against Wolfsburg, they manage to get a win which is not how they have to be this season.
Honestly I agree with you, he needs all the support he can get because he is working under pressure not to make any mistake and I don't even see him as the manager they wanted, is like the Bayern Munich board appointed him (Vincent Kompany) out of desperation just to occupy that position as the manager, no high profile manager as of then and should anything went wrong they'll take their time and get their preferred coach to lead the side, that's what I think because how far has Vincent Kompany gone to coach Bayern? Just a season with Burnley, getting them to the EPL and back to the championship then boom he got the Bayern Munich job as head coach, not really clear.
If by chance he gets any trophy that's not the champions league title I think it will be a big achievement for him, I don't know how they want to see it but the man Kompany would be so happy to win something as a coach. The board have to expect more from him because last season is like they lost their throne and I believe they need to get back to that path of winning and clearing every trophy so Kompany need to be in his toes.
