It's as if De Rossi doesn't know who to bring into the team. He seems a bit amateurish in terms of creating a complete team with transfers. Daniele De Rossi actually finished last year great, but this year they started the season badly even though expectations were higher. This year should be better than last year. That's why De Rossi should prepare the players better in terms of tactics.
De Rossi has clear idea on what he wants and what Roma did not have enough in the last season but new players need time and not all new players will play well in a new club. De Rossi as a head coach of Roma, must be responsible for results but players themselves have to work hard to adapt to their new clubs, new head coach, new team mates and new league. It's up to them and De Rossi as a head coach only can do his part in management, playing well or bad, players decide with their action on field.
How Roma start to this season is worrying. They drew one game and lost another. Their attacks are not working well especially with player Artem Dovbyk. He was top scorer last season but now he is not doing well. He needs help from his teammates to score. He is not as strong as Romelu Lukaku who can score on his own. Roma spent a lot of money on new players but that has not fixed their problems. They might need to change their playing style to fix their lack of energy and attacks. If they do not improve they will face problems and they won't make it to Champions League.
Two first matches with only one point and a third match will be a tough one with Juventus. Lukaku is no longer in Roma and they will miss "Big Rom" but Doybyk can provide things can not be provided by Lukaku. They're different players and have different skill sets to contribute to the team. Dovbyk needs to be given more time and patience from Roma, the season only is at beginning.
I believe that Dovbyk can help Roma attacking system more flexible in tactical operations and soon he will fulfill the departure of Lukaku and Roma fans will love him.
