I would need to research deeper about that region, because I'm not used to the Southeastern Asian culture. There must be real potential there, but the cons must be taken into consideration as well. The nature is beautiful in those countries, but it's also pretty savage. That is something to be noticed and measured, because a huge investment can be gone in a matter of seconds in case of natural disasters which aren't unlikely to happen on that region of the world.
In every cases, diversification is the key. If you, as an entrepreneur, have a large portfolio, you can invest a portion of it in Southeast Asia, aware about its risks and potential profits, but just make sure to invest in other niches of the market and regions of the world as well. This way, if something wrong goes there, you have another investments to absorb the loss without further prejudice to the finances.
