We should consider how intelligence and academic brilliance influence addiction to gambling. Although academic brilliance and intelligence are distinct concepts, a debate for another time.I believe intelligence plays a crucial role in self-control. I've never seen an intelligent person who lacks self-control; they understand when to stop. Gambling appeals to a heightened reward system that impacts emotional intelligence, and I find it hard to believe that true intelligence can coexist with a gambling addiction
