Leverkusen got their first defeat this season from Leipzig although playing at home but Leverkusen performing poorly and previously most people at here have been discussed about this match because they are very sure Leverkusen can win the match so many people has starting to bets on them because people thought Leverkusen still able to managed their records on Bundesliga but in fact they lost from Leipzig and indeed this is very dissapointed and i know Bundesliga has just beginning but this result makes me starting to doubt Leverkusen can defend their title because they still unable to playing consistent
In the second match of the season, the Leverkusen team was defeated. From this it can be assumed that the Leverkusen team is not in a great rhythm like last season. However, there is no chance to say that Leverkusen's performance was poor in this match. Leverkusen's players tried their best to perform well. But due to the weakness of the defense, the Leverkusen team had to lose the match in the end.
We also saw Leverkusen's poor defense against Gladbach in the first match. Leverkusen also conceded two goals against Gladbach. And the team conceded three goals against Leipzig. Xabi Alonso should make arrangements to strengthen his squad's defense. Leverkusen is still a very strong team. The attacking side of this team is also very strong. But if the defense cannot be strengthened, the team will fall behind in the title fight. The main contenders for the title, Bayern Munich, are in a very good position so far.
Leverkusen actually played very well in the first half, they dictated the course of the match, and they created quite a lot of chances. Unfortunately towards the end of the first half, Xabi Alonso troops lost focus, and failed to anticipate counterattacks well, so that the score in the first half became 2-1. Leipzig seems to have learned well how to beat Leverkusen, they carry a defensive style of play and rely on counterattacks. The two goals scored by Leipzig in the second half also came through the same scheme, namely counterattacks that failed to be anticipated by Leverkusen three defenders.
On the other hand, Leverkusen unbeaten journey has now stopped in the hands of Leipzig, although we know it is not easy to continue to maintain it for a very long time. Xabi Alonso seems to have to change his strategy when his team faces a tough opponent, it is very risky to continue to push the players to attack too much throughout the match. I think Leipzig deserves praise for their success today, they managed to provide a valuable lesson for Leverkusen. Leverkusen defeat is certainly very beneficial for Bayern Munchen, who are trying hard to win back the Bundesliga trophy this season.
