If in the first half it looked like Chelsea were not going to lose points in this match, then in the second half the game was equal and I think a draw is a fair result for this match. So far I don’t see how Maresca can be better than Pochettino, Chelsea took their usual place in the middle of the table. And nothing has changed significantly for Manchester United, after the first half they are losing 0:2, and based on the game there are doubts that they will be able to equalize the score.
Chelsea has started its inconsistent run like it has done for the past two seasons. They had a good game against Wolves and had to settle for a draw today. They had seven shots on target but got just one goal. Nicolas Jackson scored today, which indicates that he has started improving but he has to be more clinical. They were able to defeat Wolves because they maximized most of the chances they had but today was different. Eberechi Eze took advantage of the slight opportunity Crystal Palace had to score a very beautiful goal. Chelsea is currently occupying the eleventh position making it look like sacking Mauricio Pochettino was a mistake.
Chelsea have been inconsistent, of course that is a fact about their performance so far. In 3 matches, Chelsea only managed to secure 4 points from 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss, so I don't think their performance has improved at the start of this season. But before this, fans may have to be more patient considering that Chelsea is now working with a new coach. It's clear he needs adjustments and adaptation, but if he doesn't improve in the next match then the pressure will definitely increase.
Pochettino's sacking shouldn't be considered bad for Chelsea's future and all its big plans, but people give up too easily and don't want to be patient. Chelsea will likely improve over time, but it seems like they will need a long time. So, don't expect too high of them.
