Secondly, crypto is easier as I can even decide not to trade and hold and when the value appreciates I make money. In forex, you must trade and that's it. There's no holding.
The part you mentioned there about buying and hodling is "Spot trading", it's not "Futures". In cryptos, futures is the one that's like Forex trading. One can get burnt or make profit either way – buying or selling in Futures, same way in FX. In Spot trading, it's a one way traffic because one only gets to make money from buying low and selling high.
Whether Forex or Cryptos, what should be top priority for any trader is acquiring basic skills to navigate their charts and be profitable doing so. I started with FX a few years ago and then delved into crypto trading. I like crypto trading more and have made much money there than in FX. No capping, cryptos can easily give one unbelievable profit unlike FX.
