I couldn't agree more with those gamblers saying that they gamble just for fun because the truth is that people gamble in the hope of multiplying their money. But from what we have witnessed and seeing the sentiment of the majority, we definitely see that they feel disappointed when losing. Which is not really the behavior of gamblers who just think about entertaining themselves.
You should never vouch for any gambler that they are gambling for fun, it's their true actions and reactions towards gambling that you would know the truth. Some would tell you they are gambling for fun but they are lying while some are truly gambling for fun but they might renege with time and start gambling for the money, we are all humans and are all susceptible to emotions.
In this present-day reality, there are three sets of gamblers, 1) we have those who gamble for fun, 2) those who gamble for the money and 3) those who swing between the two according to their mood, money at hand or the affinity to take risks at that time. This was why I said we should learn an individual's personality/behaviour towards it to ensure their position towards it. However, you will be mistaken if having the fun mindset is the only way out in gambling, many are not just for the fun but for the money and I respect their decisions. So, instead of preaching the fun, I believe that a neutral mind while gambling (even if you want money from it) is the right approach towards it.

A real gambler never seeks winning but pleasure and fun.

You are mixing the points together, a real gambler will gamble for the money, that is the true reason why people gamble, it's not for fun, don't let us pretend. The modern-day pretence is changing the whole picture, but if gambling is about betting/risking something for it, if it's not solely for money-making, what is it for by virtue of its definition? it's of course for the money, except that some people may deviate for the fun.
