My question is will Napoli miss the Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen?
I think Victor Osimhen will be missed by Napoli team. With the help of Osimhen, Napoli dominated Serie A and won the championship. Osimhen was plagued by injuries last season. And he did not perform well. So Napoli's overall performance was unstable. So I'd say the effect of not having Osimhen in the squad this season will be seen in Napoli's performance.
Conte is an experienced coach. However, there is no experienced scorer in Napoli's squad. Although Lukaku is a good striker, he is not a regular scorer. We haven't seen Lukaku perform consistently well in the past. Lukaku's performance has also been erratic. For these reasons, I think Napoli will miss Osimhen next season.
So having Lukaku in the team is like they're rebuilding the team without Osimhen because the playing style will definitely change to the standard of Lukaku, like Conte is building the team round the Belgium striker. With the injury Osimhen had last season he still came out strong with 15 goals despite the injury Osimhen was able to get double figures, not every attacker can do such. I wouldn't say Lukaku is a bad player. He is a very talented player. But I would say Lukaku was never a regular scorer like Osimhen. Lukaku scored 24 goals in a season with Inter Milan in the 2020-21 season. Lukaku managed to score 47 goals in two seasons with Inter Milan. However, in the last three seasons he has scored a total of 31 goals. He scored only 13 goals in 32 matches last season. That's why I'm not expecting much from Lukaku.
However, Lukaku had the best performances of his career in two seasons with Inter Milan. And then the coach of Inter Milan was Conte. He is aware of Lukaku's style of play. So with Conte's help, maybe we'll see Lukaku perform well again.
