We should expects more from the club this season but losing to RB Leipzig, I think they're absolutely on a constant deviate sector. Bayer Leverkusen was low profile club until Xabi Alonso came and took over. I would say, he's the best thing that has ever happened to Bayer Leverkusen in previous season. Xabi Alonso was appointed headcoaach and he didn't hesitate to bring in good results for his players and the club. Making them win the Bundesliga title for the first time in the club's 120 years of existence and also winning the DFB Pokal and UEFA Europa League under Xabi Alonso.
After Xabi Alonso successfully led Leverkusen to win the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal trophies, all teams now respect them and there is no longer the word "Neverkusen". Last week their unbeaten record in domestic competition was stopped by Leipzig, it was surprising and in reality it is not easy to continue to maintain the record. However, considering the journey is still very long, Leverkusen still has the potential to be able to defend the trophy this season, even though we currently know Bayern Munchen is more consistent.
