I don't know what you speak about when you mention stability as it regards the Manchester United team and their head coach Erik ten hag, I don't see any form of stability currently in the Manchester United squad, I only see that they are still looking like a team still struggling to find their feet after all this years, I mean even till this moment, it still feels like ten hag is yet to arrive at a definite pattern enough to be able to get them to win games with some level of ease and when they meet top teams with matching strength, they could contend equally and be able to at least secure even if it's a point where it turns out they aren't able to win but sadly it's been almost three seasons with Manchester United and ten hag is yet to get a definite pattern around the team.
Ten Hag is a hard worker, but his hard work has not fully proven that he is able to improve the quality of Manchester United. The performance of the team he coached was very far from being as stable as said, so they were very inconsistent for a long time and this was an unresolved problem. It's difficult to restore Manchester United's performance to being the best team like in the past, so I think this is no longer their era.
Whoever the coach is, Manchester United won't change much in my opinion. You can look at their list of coaches so far and find out who has helped Manchester United win the title the most, I think it's none other than Sir Alex.
