Since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement as manager of Manchester United in 2013, the team's performances have not been as successful as they were during his tenure. since his departure, the club has struggled to find consistent success and has failed to maintain its former dominance in the title race.

Manchester United's current situation is deplorable. Even though ManU's squad has suffered a massive erosion, I think the main problem is the manager. Erik ten Hag is a manager who has never been able to settle and press the opposition. I find it hard to understand his game plan, maybe he can create a very good transition team, but it's definitely not for ManU. When you think of ManU, the system of play that Sir Alex Ferguson has created over the years makes us not accept the current situation. Unless ManU bring in someone with a big vision and the mentality of a big team manager, it is impossible to recover.
Since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club, Jose Mourinho is the only manager that came close to making the club great again. Unfortunately he didn’t received much support from the club owners. Mourinho did not receive the kind of support that has been given to Erik Ten Hag. They refused to get him the players he wanted, and when problems arose between him and some of the players (Pogba and Martial), the club was quick to defend and take sides with the players undermining the authority of the manager.

Everything Mourinho complained about was true right and it's proven now. It would have been a very different story if Mourinho was the manager when Christiano Ronaldo returned to Manchester United. Manchester United made a huge mistake to sack Mourinho. And yet they are giving ETH more time to manage the club.
