Salah, Van Dijk and Trent all can leave for £0 next summer as their contracts expire. It’s awful planning by the club, all three should be offered new contracts ASAP.
Trent can be kept at Liverpool but Salah and Van Dijk will possibly let go as free agents in the next summer. With their star player positions, they will nearly not accept 1-year contract offer from Liverpool and also disagree to receive lower salary. It's problem and conflict between old star players and their clubs over years and I believe both Salah and Van Dijk will be ready for choosing their new clubs.
Something that should be really looked into by Liverpool, finding suitable replacements when the transfer window opens in January or the good old days of Liverpool could be long behind us. It doesn’t matter how well the team might be doing right now with the absence of Klopp as these are key players in the team, Trent, Salah and Van Dijk.
Would these guys really be open to taking new contracts?
I’m not sure about that although, you would agree that they’ve played their hearts out for Liverpool and should they choose to leave, they leave the team as one of its very best.
