I tend to agree with what Erigga said. Though, this may differs in other countries but taking a closer look at betting shops target locations in Nigeria, they are more concentrated in the poor neighbourhood than the rich neighbourhood. Using Lagos as an example, the number of betting shops are far more greater in numbers in places like Surelere, Mushin, Ojuelegba than Victoria Island, Banana Island, etc. Now, It doesn't mean that the rich doesn't gamble, they do but the poor are always banking on luck to hit a major financial breakthrough and gambling is often seen as a way out.
