Yeah that's true but not everyone understands what RBF means especially newbies and some can't even tell if their transaction supports it or not . The fact is is always better to make use of an average fee instead of trying to cut fees and making use of a fee that will leave your transaction stuck on the MEMPOOL for literally days .

Sometimes some wallets don't even support CPFP and so the receiver may just think that the sender hasn't sent the coins only a few wallets mostly open source ones like Electrum display RECEIVING when someone sends some coins before they are confirmed some other wallets especially custodial will only display a balance addition after 1 or 2 confirmations.
Some people also do not know what fee rate (sat/vbyte) is. They are using the rate the wallet they are using are recommending them. Some wallet overestimate, some underestimate, while some can be kind of accurate like Unstoppable wallet. Information and knowledge is very important. You did what you did because you know about bitcoin and fee rate. And I am not going to be surprised if you use the wallet that is supporting RBF also.
