Addiction generally interferes with a person's natural cognition. A common belief people have in gambling is that they can recover their money faster if they lose, if they spend more than they can get all their money back.
That’s just what most people trying to win back their losses do say when they gamble, they believe if they don’t give up, then they will be able to recover their losses, but things don’t work like that. If you are losing, the best thing is just to calm down and maybe stop gambling after losing so much money. If you keep on gambling, your loss will be increasing, and you might never recover any amount.
But if they can easily accept gambling without thinking about anything like this, especially gambling losses then they will not get addicted easily.
If you don’t have the mindset of making money from gambling, if you just gamble freely, or if you don’t gamble with so much money, maybe you just gamble with a little amount of money, then you shouldn’t get addicted to gambling, because most people that are addicted are having the mindset of making money from gambling.
Gambling can never be a platform for making money. Those who refuse to accept this fact become addicted to gambling.
I don’t know how people are making money from gambling, but my win loss is always more than my win, so even when I win, I know I am still going to lose most of my win on gambling back.
