Watching the thread. What is the GROESTL means?
a repost from the cudaminer thread:So what is this Grosel stuff people are talking about? I'm still here mining DOGE and not up on the latest with what to be mining. What are we mining now? Great work on the CudaMiner btw 
that's Gröstl.
it's also a finalist of the NIST SHA-3 hash function competition. Gröstl is an Austrian dish, but because the hash function has Danish co authors, they replaced the ö with an ø like in Smørrebrød
the hash function is important because it is part of Quark and X11 - and it appears that in particular X11 will play a major role in the future (when ASICs have ruined scrypt for GPU miners)
