That is a false claim.
Like you, I wasn't there either. But if Putin offered 250 acres of Ukraine farmland as a homestead, I just might take him up on it, and join the Russian military for that land. Odds are he won't make that offer. He isn't interested in conquering Ukraine. Only keeping Nato out.
