The achievement of consensus in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other blockchains is inextricably linked to the execution of transactions and other logic supported by the respective network, significantly limiting the number of requests that can be processed in a single round of network operation.
Waterfall employs a new model based on separating the execution of transactions and smart contracts from the consensus mechanism.
All transactions and smart contract calls are published in a blockDAG, while the decision regarding the order of execution of all requests is made in the Coordinating network. Additionally, this approach is structurally conducive to introducing sharding, which we are currently working on.
