everyone has their own interest in trading or staking. people who prefer trading will certainly like the profits they get from trading. on the other hand, those who do not have enough trading skills may like the APR offered by the platform even though it is small.

I don't know if you are a trader and also stake assets on a particular platform. some people don't like staking because of the problem of asset ownership. it's like you are lending your assets and receiving interest from the platform. assets are not in your control. therefore more people will keep their assets in their wallets as long-term investments in their own hands.
I recommend who have good knowledge in trading they should go for trading, here they can make decent profits then staking, staking is low profits and but not risk free because you already explain that in staking owners have no control with own assets if lending platform is centralized. But some peoples can try in staking who have good fund but no skill in trading.

I don't think so. everyone takes the limit of their ability to accept the risk of what they choose. so don't think which is more profitable for someone. but there is a tendency to I prefer this over that. I am more expert at this than that. or I am luckier at this than that.
both staking and trading still require knowledge. people who have done both may be able to provide conclusions about which choice is more profitable and more appropriate for them.
