Well, sometimes family wants to know our source of income and make sure it is a clean source of income. Many people know that there are a lot of scams on the internet these days, and our family doesn't want us to be those people. Therefore, it is very important to let them know about the basics of what we do on the internet, so that they know too. However, as you said, it all depends on how your family perceives you. However, I feel that it is important.
This is how it happens for you, but for me it's completely different. Nobody cares what I do on the Internet, if I bring money into the family. Yes, sometimes they ask about it, but as soon as I start throwing around jargon, they immediately ask me to stop. This is where my self-deception about earnings comes to an end.
And lately I've been trying to keep it as quiet as possible about it, so that there are no unnecessary questions. I don't like it and some people don't need to know.
