I saw an annoying spam and I wanted to use the report function and I was told that my email address will be revealed to the moderator when I report a spam.
This is the first time I am hearing that email would be revealed when the user reports a spam post. I have also reported some few spams and I have not seen such information. OP if you see such again please screenshot it and post the image here for us to see if really what you are saying is correct or it is a new development. Your email is very far from this.

No you won't receive any email as a reminder or notification from any moderator or from the forum admin himself. And the forum reporting of spam system is very simple. Probably the mistake is from your side.
