Crypto or not, the one coin, other than Bitcoin, that I find very useful is Monero. Not for investment, not for HoDLing it, not for making you rich, but for actually using it for private transactions. It's a great way to protect your anonymity, and that's why it is the primary coin of choice in cases where privacy is important.
Agreed. Kinda disappointed to see LTC still languishing even after the addition of MWeb.
As for other coins outperforming Bitcoin, I see this as a "division by zero" case. I.e., any coin starting at near-zero value could easily outperform Bitcoin (or any other coin) when it reaches a non-zero price (x/0 = ∞). I think, perhaps, a better way to assess performance would be to let the coin run for some time (a year?) and start from there (x_now/x_1yr). It would be interesting to assess and compare coin performance in this way. Which coin would win?
I see what you're saying but a price is never actually zero. So even if you take yearly performances and average them out, the huge price explosions exhibited by the "outpacing" coins will skew the average in their favor over BTC.
