Chelsea might be leading and the fans are happy but for the first 20mins both teams was showing that unseriousness in the game, after 25mins of the game West Ham took absolute control of the game till the end of the first half. Chelsea are not even in the game, the team has no flexible midfielder and with Palmer out of the equation the team can't hold the ball for a minute. Going to the defenders, Fofana has been terrible with and without the ball, he can't make a clear marking without offending the player talking about Summerville who has been making life hard for him (Fofana). And why are the defenders of Chelsea including the keeper (Sanchez) always building from the back with poor passes? Sanchez has been lucky with those weak passes from what have seen.
I just hope the second half won't be as bad for West Ham, they have gotten their mojo back and they need to keep pressing till they get a goal which I'm expecting this second half. Enzo Maresca should be more effective while making his sub in the second half because at half time player like Madueke hasn't been in the game, Enzo still have enough option to make the game be in favor of the Blues.
When all these words you are voicing out would have been put into thought would have been if peradventure Chelsea loses to West Ham at the end of the match after leading with two goals in the first half. But so long as Chelsea wins West Ham with 3 goals, Chelsea fans won't feel bad and annoyed that Chelsea is operating from the back with poor passes. However, Chelsea is a bit stronger in their defense line despite their poor passes from the back, that's one thing that should be noted.
You're correct but you should understand that each time Chelsea performance is nothing to write home about they win and when they play well they lose, that's what I noticed maybe not in all games but that's it for me, so they need to change that initiative and try to make their performance look solid. I know the fans are happy at the 0-3 win but their sluggishness is too much, the midfield is not even what you can say did well, Caicedo and Enzo in that midfield is a no no for me. Is best to have Enzo than the man Caicedo, the two players don't have that much connection. Caicedo always playing the ball back at the defense which causes much pressure on the shaky defense of Chelsea, which isn't suppose to be, they need someone special to help out the DM position.
No doubt, Chelsea showcased a sluggish performance I wasn't expecting but because of their win, I tried to let that slide. But had it been, Chelsea played against a tough team with this kind of performance they showcased today, it would have been a loss match for them that they would have ended up conceding many goals before the end of the match. I think, in Chelsea's next match against Brighton, Enzo Maresca wouldn't like to play Caicedo and Enzo together in the midfield or use the same sluggish pattern of today's match against West Ham to play against Brighton, which likes attacking their opponent with full force and also plays fast football.
