Barcelona's 100% start to the season brought to a disappointing end last midweek after they traveled France to play against Monaco in their first UEFA Champions League game of the season and that brought many criticisms to the team. Some persons were of the opinion that despite Barcelona's previous results before the game, they do not have all it takes to win in big matches. In their response to the critics today, the Spanish La Liga league leaders delivered another scintillating performance against Villarreal to continue to their impressive performance in the league. My question now is should we consider Barcelona as a club that can only do well in the league and get beaten in European competitions?
This reflects how strong Barcelona are now, for Villarreal this is the first defeat in La Liga and especially this is a defeat at home, where these guys are very strong, but even they conceded 5 goals from Barcelona. It seems that Barcelona are doing great in La Liga, now they have to do the same thing a few times in the Champions League to get some points, although I have no doubt that for them to reach the playoffs will be an easy task, and the defeat to Monaco is an accident. The next games will be with Getafe and Osasuna, I think these should be easy wins, and then the match with Young Boys in the Champions League, I expect Barcelona to score at least 4 goals in this match.
