I was surprised with seeing Atletico Madrid lose points last night. Actually they scored the equalizer quite early in the second half. But there was still no goal in the remaining half...

Simeone continues to give Alvarez lots of chances to see his improvement. But unfortunately he couldn't make any impact on the game despite playing for the whole game. But he scored against Valencia previously so I hope he will get better slowly. I don't know maybe it is better to start with Griezmann instead while he is in a much better shape. Alvarez entered in the second half of the Valencia game and still scored in the end.
For me, I wasn't really surprised seeing Atletico Madrid drop points because Rayo Vallecano could be a very dangerous side to face, they have a great defensive line up and that's why Atletico Madrid couldn't really penetrate their defense despite getting the equalizer earlier in the second half,
And I think the Rayo Vallecano coach should be applauded for deploying such a defensive and attacking tactics that was able to prevent Atletico's attackers from overwhelming Rayo's defense and at the same time kept pushing forward thereby keeping Atletico at bay.
Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann weren't at their exact best in that match and I think coach Diego Simeone should have included Antoine Griezmann in the starting lineup and this may have had a different impact on the score line.
