I thought this was a joke first. But I guess it makes the suspect less threatening if the victims saw him carrying what seems to be a harmless huge chocolate bar.
The court heard last year that three men conducted the home invasion in the town of Blantyre, southeast of Glasgow, and one repeatedly beat a woman at the property with a personalized Toblerone bar and threw her into a bedroom.
The victim, who isn’t named for legal reasons, testified that he awoke to find a man standing over him with a machete before he was forced to transfer Bitcoin.
More and more house invasions are happening recently and a lot of them are in pursuit of bitcoin. These victims are not randomly chosen as not everyone could have had bitcoin and it would be pointless to threaten someone who doesn’t know anything about it. This is once again reminder to not tell anyone about whether you are holding bitcoin or not and how much you are holding. Also have some self defense devices on you or at your house at all times. It will be useful.
