Does this make Liverpool more in the race than Arsenal? I have lost confidence in both Arsenal and Liverpool to overtake Manchester city. I was thinking a new team will emerge this time, maybe Aston villa to surprise Manchester City.
I have not given up on Aston Villa, they can be the Bayern leverkusen of England this season. Even if they don't do upto Leverkusen, they can do something surprising to everyone this season.
This is the fifth week of game results, and you've already assumed that Arsenal and Liverpool cannot win the league this season. Liverpool has surpassed Arsenal in the league standings because of two draws this season, and Arsenal was winning before their players were sent off, and had no choice but to play with ten players.
Manchester City would lose their chances of winning the league this season if any of the main players are injured. However, their players seem tired because, if you look at Manchester City players, the majority of them participated in international games, and they weren't given lots of time to rest as the league competition resumed, so we shouldn't expect them to perform better this season, because if it was Manchester City, I saw last season they could have scored up to 6 goals against Watford, but they scored an early goal and the match ended 2:1.
However, Aston cannot win the league this season. In other leagues, an unknown team can win the league but that is not going to happen in the Premier League this season because Aston didn't appear to be as competitive as they were last season when they defeated Arsenal both at home and away. This season, however, they have lost to Arsenal at home. Aston Villa can finish among the top four this season but their chances to become the champion are small since they are also competing in the Champions League and how they perform cannot be the same during the season.
