You are right, of course it is not always the best solution to always ignore a member (even if I use the show/hide link to read messages when the need arises). If you ignore members you have to have good reason but sometimes we can all get it wrong.
Having said that, I only posted in this thread because the OP added @myname to bring this thread to my attention as well as the other names and I only caught up with it by chance today.
As for the pertinent point raised about the resolution between jamyr and the OP not negating issues surrounding the loan, hopefully jamyr or another member will clarify what happened any associated tag members might consider giving for that would be disassociated from their resolution.
Completely ignoring a member is not always the best solution, but in that case, you should also avoid any comments in his discussion. You cannot give a rational judgment if you have not heard all the facts neutrally. I only put annoying spammers on ignore until I do it with those whose opinions or behaviour I don't like.
But that's just my take.
